The Vodafone 533 Crystal is one of the more unusual handsets available on the current mobile phone market, offering as it does a handset that has within its outer casing a range of Swarovski elements. The theme is carried on with additional animations and wallpapers, which provide an air of sophistication with this handset. The unit is relatively compact at 98 mm x 46 mm wide, whilst at 14 mm is a suitably slim. Its weight of 90 g means that it is comfortable to hold and easy to use.
The unit provides an impressive and colourful 2.0 inch TFT display screen that by virtue of its 256,000 colour display capabilities, offers an exciting blend of image clarity and a vibrancy that is rarely seen in a handset in this price range. The display screen offers a 176 x 220 pixel screen size, within which it is able to offer the aforementioned animations and wallpapers.
The handsets phone book comprises of up to 500 entries, whilst the call records are able to retain the last 20 dialed, missed and received calls. The unit offers vibration and ring alert options, with both MP3 and polyphonic ringtones available, as required.
The handsets 8 MB of internal memory, although somewhat small, is dwarfed by the capability to upgrade the memory capacity up to 4 GB, by making use of the built in microSD card slot. GPRS and EDGE are both provided, and are both class 10, whilst USB and version 2.0 of blue tooth is included which comes with A2DP.
The unit provides a stereo FM radio with RDS capabilities as well as an MP3 player. In addition a 1.3 megapixel snapshot style camera is offered, that takes effective imagery that can be displayed on the screen. The unit also supports SMS, MMS messaging as well as providing a WAP 2.0 browser.
