T-Mobile MyTouch 3G – Is it the Choice For Me?

March 15th, 2010 Filed under: Uncategorized — Cell Phone Author

The smart phone war seems to be a race between the huge brand names of Google’s Nexus One and Apples 3GS, but in reality there are several other contenders; phones like the Motorola Droid, Palm Pre, and the T-Mobile myTouch 3G. You are probably familiar with the Nexus One and Apple 3GS and heard all the rave reviews of the touch-screen technology, the navigate-ability, the GPS, mapping software, applications, speed, ease of use, and cost! And really isn’t it the cost that has you scratching your head a bit?

Indeed, you can buy a notebook cheaper than one of these latest personal tech smart phones these days, why is that? Well, brand name for one, but also the smaller things get the more they cost. Still, just because Apple and Google phones are running away with a huge chunk of the market share and notoriety, does not mean the competition is going to sit on its laurels and not respond. Believe me they are. Even the Samsung Behold will have an evolved model in 2010. And that Motorola Droid is a cut above the Apple 3GS, and unless you are a cultish Apple Lover, you have to admit it gives it a real run, especially for its money.

Okay so, let’s discuss the T-Mobile myTouch 3G. Obviously, T-mobile tells you something about who is behind that model, and myTouch let’s you know that they too have the touch screen technology and 3G tells you it runs on 3G networks and is certainly a player in that realm. This phone can also be bought from HTC and their version is the “Magic” model. The price is real comparable to the Motorola Droid at $200 and pretty much is a very value based phone when compared to the pricy Apple 3GS or Google Nexus One.

All-in-all it is a very good looking phone and a good price. I personally like the Motorola better since it is the same price, but they are both pretty good phones. With the Android 1.5 release this smart phone sure works nice and T-mobile is all in, and it’s nice to have the landscape virtual keyboard, and the voice navigation is cool too. I think you will like this phone if you choose it.

No doubt, T-mobile hopes you do too, and they are offering some killer deals, yes, with lock-in + discounts for a My Touch 3G phone. Those who already have them, absolutely love them, and brag that their phone is better than mine – endless testimonials are easily found, still, in the end it is your choice. Make that call.
